1:15 - 2:00 PM Author, Becky Melby Mrs. Melby lives in Burlington, WI. She writes
contemporary women’s fiction. Her Lost Sanctuary series released in 2012 contains historical
threads that take readers back to 1852 and the underground railroad, the battle
for women’s rights and child labor laws in the early 1900’s, and the reign of
organized crime in the Roaring 20’s. Stories in this series take
place in Rochester, Kenosha, and Racine, WI. She has also co-authored 9
novels.

Todd Brennan, Outreach
Coordinator Alliance for the Great Lakes. His responsibilities include
outreach to communities in Wisconsin including working with schools, residents,
and organizations to make their coastal communities more resilient. He
coordinates the Adopt-a-Beach program and implements the Alliance’s Great Lakes in My World curriculum
in Wisconsin.
Kate Jerome, Urban
Farm Manager & Horticulture Instructor at Gateway Technical College,
Kenosha, WI. Kate has spent the last twenty years as a freelance garden
writer and teacher. At Gateway Technical College she teaches landscape design,
plant identification, landscape management, and urban farming classes.
She is a consultant and writer for Chicago Botanic Garden and Olbrich Botanical
Garden in Madison.
Wendy Spencer,
Events Coordinator at the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Spencer portrayed Mrs.
Henry Durand who moved into the newly constructed Mansion in 1857 with her
husband, Henry, and children. She will conduct a tour of the mansion.
