Our speaker will be Judge Boyle, who will present information about the Racine Judicial System. He will give a brief overview of his experiences, however, come prepared with specific questions to ask him. This will be more of a question/ answer type format.
$400 Kaythryn Saunders Grant: Come with some suggestions for this grant, as a decision needs to be made by the May 6 meeting. This will allow our grant writing team to put the information together and submit it in early September. This $400 grant is selected by the WI A∆K Executive Board at their fall Board meeting. It is awarded to an individual, chapter, group, or organization to fund an altruistic project. It does not have to be for a 501(c) (3) organization.
2017-2018 Programs: It’s never too early to be thinking of some program suggestions for next year. A tentative July date for discussing programs will be set after our meeting, so please have your calendar ready.
Altruistic Contribution: This will encompass both the April and May meetings. We will be supporting the “Movers For Moms” donation drive sponsored by Two Men And A Truck, which runs April 10-May 12. The goal is to provide essential care items to residents of the Women’s Resource Center in time for Mother’s Day. The project was featured on the front page of Section D of the Sunday, April 2 Racine Journal Times, or you can find out more info. by going to https:// twomenandatruck.com/about-us/community-service. A few suggestions for items to donate are: nice soaps, hair styling products, shampoo, conditioners, slippers, gift cards, baby items, books for young children etc. There will be more than 50 drop-off sites, one of which is the Newman Rd. Educators Credit Union. Donation boxes will not be available until April10. That is after our April meeting, so do not bring anything this Saturday. Instead, you can drop off items, whenever you visit Educators Credit Union throughout the collection time and note your contributions on the Altruistic Sheet.
