Yesterday Terri, Karen, and Jane brought to fruition an idea they have dreamed about. It answers a need to get together and have some fun, as well as doing a little fund-raising. This revives a practice that was much more common in the early years of Tau Chapter, when the sisters got together for fun activities more often than we have been accustomed to in the last ten years or so. In these stressful times we need the therapeutic benefits of friendship as much as the arts and crafts.
Jane planned a project for us in which we painted mandalas on stones using a dot-painting technique. Here is the invitation.
We met in Jane's "Gardio" (or "Garudio" as it is sometimes referred to.) This is the very clever combination for Jane's very comfortable, and very well-equipped GARAGE-STUDIO! How lucky we are to have our very own art teacher who wants to inspire us and give us a chance to have fun together outside of a regular meeting.
Here we are painting, chatting, and laughing together. We even had some friends of Jane's to get to know.

She provides all the materials we need. For today, there were MANY colors of paint, all sizes of brushes, rocks, and sealer. And SNACKS!

Fun was had by all. Next month we might be learning quilling. Or who knows? But for sure we will relax and have fun!
