Susan had an idea for a gathering for prospective new members, and Char volunteered to host in her library at Horlick. Janis and Robin worked with them on the details, beginning with a Membership Tea, and ending up with a "Coffee and Connections Open House." It was well-attended and lovely. There was a coffee station for tired teachers as they arrived.
The seating was ample, but cozy and comfortable.
The food was prepared for us and served by the Culinary Arts Academy students. It was delicious, as you can tell by Janis's expression!
You can see what a beautiful and spacious library it is.
Char had prepared a beautiful slide show specific to our local Tau chapter. We chose this rather than using the International Power Point, which is very good, but not representative of what we do here in Racine. (Here are links to both: the Tau Slideshow and the International Power Point.) The guests were very enthusiastic and we members enjoyed remembering all these projects, activities, and altruistic volunteering and donations from the last ten years.
Char had arranged escorts for us from the entrance to the library (the Ambassadors). Here they are with the Culinary Arts crew as dessert is served. More deliciousness!
