For our March meeting, we met at City Hall Annex where Toys for Tots operates. Our speaker, Pete Waselchuk, Director of Tex Reynolds’ Toys for Tots, gave us an overview of the operation. He then took us on an extensive tour of the facility and all the toys. It was like seeing Santa’s workshop without the elves getting everything ready and prepared for delivery to all the children. Pete also handed out a fact sheet, copies of which will be handed out at April’s meeting.
Joining us for this portion of the day was Linda Haas, a potential new member for Tau. She even gave a monetary donation, in addition to all the toys and games donated by the six members in attendance.
After the tour, we drove to the Dish for refreshments and to conduct our meeting.
