We volunteered in our "adopted" classroom at RAL with the special needs high school students in Mr. Russo's classroom. We assisted the students in creating mailboxes for their Valentine exchange next week. Many of the students and their assistants told us how much they enjoyed the creative freedom of making their mailbox to their own liking with papers, stickers, buttons, sparkly glittery stuff, ribbons, and other ephemera we brought for them to choose from. They were encouraged to browse the tables of supplies and come back as often as they wanted to for more. We had as much fun as the kids did! (So much that we only took one picture. Hoping Mr. Russo sends more.)
